About the Role:
Join Marsh Risk's Private Equity and M&A (PEMA) practice in Romania, where we guide clients through risk and insurance challenges across all stages of M&A transactions.
Based in Bucharest, this role requires at least three days per week in the office
Mergers, acquisitions, and divestments are complex and high-risk. For over 20 years, our global PEMA team has helped clients manage deal risks and optimize insurance frameworks across their portfolios. We support both buyers and sellers in minimizing their risk exposure.
Your Responsibilities:
- Advise on, structure, and place Warranty & Indemnity (W&I), Title Insurance, and other transactional risk insurance solutions.
- Lead client relationships and business development, managing the full sales cycle with a focus on problem-solving rather than product selling.
- Understand clients' business challenges and priorities, linking them to Marsh solutions and communicating effectively with C-Suite executives.
- Collaborate with private equity firms, strategic investors, law firms and other deal advisors.
- Oversee delivery of Marsh services post-sale, coordinating internal teams to meet client needs.
- Provide senior oversight for key clients, ensuring local teams meet expectations and resolving any issues.
- Engage confidently with C-Suite leaders in formal meetings, informal settings, and industry events.
- Prepare client presentations, research reports, and use Marsh tools to track opportunities.
- Manage day-to-day client executive duties for selected clients.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years of M&A experience at a reputable law firm or equivalent in-house role.
- Strong knowledge of transaction processes, sector risks, and contract negotiations.
- Excellent communication skills in Romanian and English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment without sacrificing quality.
- Ambition and passion for building client relationships, generating opportunities, and closing deals.
- Confidence and presence to lead conversations at the C-Suite level.
- Comfortable working independently across all tasks, from client meetings to preparing presentations and policy documents.
What Will Make You Stand Out:
- Interest in working at a global advisory firm that values diversity and professional growth.
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn in a supportive, team-focused environment.
- Proven success in issues-driven selling.
- Ability to position yourself as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, not just a service provider.
- Skill in uniting Marsh teams around client opportunities for cohesive firm-wide support.
Why Join Us:
- Work with some of Marsh's most complex and high-profile clients under time-sensitive conditions.
- Engage directly with senior leaders including Founders, Presidents, CEOs, and other C-Suite executives.
- Be part of a vibrant, inclusive culture that encourages innovation and impact.
- Benefit from diverse career paths, competitive rewards, and programs that support your well-being.
