Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in banking, with demonstrated expertise in balance sheet management, credit decisioning, lending, finance, stress testing, or related disciplines
  • Direct experience in risk, lending, treasury, or a related function within a bank or credit union
  • Proven ability to communicate complex banking concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences
  • Strong executive presence with experience engaging senior stakeholders, executive committees, and boards of directors
  • Experience supporting or leading complex, consultative sales engagements
  • Familiarity with banking software platforms and data-driven solutions
  • Comfort operating independently in a senior, client-facing role
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
  • Working knowledge of large language models and generative AI applications in financial services, with interest in applying AI tools to improve processes and drive efficiency, and developing awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly valued

Responsibilities

Serve as the Banking Industry Practice Lead, applying deep industry expertise to drive client impact, sales effectiveness, thought leadership, and product innovation across the Americas.
  • Serve as an Industry Practice Lead (IPL) for Banking, leveraging deep industry expertise to drive client impact, sales engagement, thought leadership, and product innovation across the Americas
  • Establish credibility and confidence in Moody’s products with prospective clients through sales activities, industry engagement, and thought leadership
  • Identify client needs and lead solution architecture to address those needs in partnership with sales, product, and strategy teams
  • Design, build, and execute market outreach strategies in collaboration with sales, marketing, and strategy teams
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers by proactively providing best practices, insights, and technical guidance as required
  • Elevate the quality and effectiveness of proposals and proofs of concept using industry best practices
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders and represent Moody’s at industry events
  • Publish thought leadership content and maintain an active professional presence across relevant channels
  • Translate emerging market themes and regulatory requirements into actionable product requirements to future-proof solutions
  • Identify market white space and build business cases for product development and enhancement
  • Conduct internal training sessions on customer use cases, workflows, personas, solution capabilities, and emerging banking trends
  • Serve as an informal coach and subject matter expert for sales professionals, customer success teams, and market strategists
  • Support go-to-market initiatives, internal enablement, and product development efforts across the organization
  • Cover the assigned geographic territory within the Americas

About the Team

The Global Sales operating unit is comprised of more than 1,000 sales and customer service professionals serving customers across banking, insurance, asset management, corporates, professional services, and government sectors in over 50 countries. The Industry Practices team aligns with customer segments and is made up of experienced subject matter experts drawn from industry, consulting, regulatory, and practitioner backgrounds. The team works closely with sales to deepen customer relationships and with product and strategy partners to ensure Moody’s solutions continue to evolve in line with industry needs.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $200,300.00 - $290,450.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
