Job Title: Senior Manager/Associate Director

Location: Beijing

Report to: Executive Director, R&D China Innovation Collaboration Center

Position Objective

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with expertise in innovative asset evaluation and validation. This position is responsible for 1) generating knowledge graph/reports for therapeutic targets, disease mechanisms and needs; to link disease to indication to therapeutic target; 2) generating a variety of reports and presentations with concrete insights to support scientific assessment and due diligence on emerging technologies, innovations and assets; 3) generate insights for strategic research direction; 4) design experiments to validate critical data of innovative assets

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze scientific literature on emerging technologies and therapeutic target of interest, generate formal reports on target profile, biological functions, molecular pathway and MOA, contributions to relevant diseases based on academic publications and related preclinical and clinical data of pipelines.
• Conduct primary research on diseases of interest through literature research and engaging with internal and external KOLs, deep dive disease profile, patient journey, and current /emerging treatment options, identify unmet medical needs, critical challenges, emerging development trends, and pipelines to be prioritized as benchmarks, and write comprehensive research reports.
• Generate knowledge graph for disease-indication-therapeutic target
• Monitor scientific and industry progress and update the reports with newly emerging insights periodically.
• Participate in external project evaluation, collect and analyze information on specific topics related to project of interest to support evaluation & data validation, and responding to special due diligence request.
• Write formal reports and prepare presentation materials, such as project evaluation reports, project progress update reports, due diligence reports, data summary presentation, project update presentation etc.
• Establish connections and engagement with academic and clinical experts to cultivate scientific collaboration

Key Requirement

Education and background: Ph.D. in Biology or M.D. in Medicine with basic science training

Work experience: 3-10 years of work experience in drug development, asset evaluation & validation, literature research or competitive intelligence of pharmaceutical R&D. Previous roles in drug development (small molecule preferred), biotech-focused consulting, biotech equity research, biotech investment analyst with experience in asset-level scientific diligence preferred.

Skills:

• Drug development experience required, small molecule project leader experience is a plus
• Knowledge of innovations/assets in academic and translational research center
• Strong information search & collection capability, proficient skills in using commercial & public database and various other sources.
• Sharp analytical skills in dissecting preclinical and clinical data with rigorous attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication & presentation skills in Chinese and English.
• High proficiency in writing and formatting reports and presentation, proficient skills in using Microsoft Office tools
