About the Role/The Team:
The In-Business Control (IBC) team plays a crucial role in shaping the strategic approach to operational risk management and the control framework. As a key part of the broader IBC group, we are committed to overseeing business controls and risks within the first line for the S&P Global Energy division. This position emphasizes AI and digital functions across all business lines within the division.
Our integrated operating model promotes close collaboration with the Operating Committee (OpCo) and fosters strong partnerships with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams, ensuring comprehensive risk coverage and representation.
The AI Risk Manager, based in the In-Business Controls (IBC) team, will help shape how we deploy AI safely, ethically and at pace across the division. You'll sit in the first line, partnering closely with IT, Legal, Compliance and 2nd Line Risk, to design fit‑for‑purpose controls and SOPs, build dynamic monitoring to spot issues early, and lead incident readiness for AI systems and algorithms. There will be hands‑on problem solving as well as exposure to senior stakeholders, and the chance to influence how AI supports our business strategy. It involves turning complex risks into clear, practical controls, promoting cross-functional collaboration, and creating opportunities to help the business adapt to changing regulations and standards.
