Join our engineering team, where you'll help drive innovation in the development of sophisticated scientific instruments and laboratory equipment. As a Mechanical Engineer III, you'll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design and deliver innovative solutions that enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll work on complex mechanical systems from concept through production, applying your expertise in precision engineering, thermal analysis, and mechanical design to create robust, manufacturable products. We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical / Electromechanical Engineer III to join our innovative and forward-thinking team. This role is ideal for a professional with strong expertise in product design, qualification, and cost optimization. The successful candidate will lead Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives, drive cost reduction strategies, and ensure product
quality and performance across globally manufactured products.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design, development, and qualification of mechanical and electromechanical products manufactured across global sites
• Drive product cost analysis, teardown benchmarking, and Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives independently
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities while maintaining product performance, reliability, and quality
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and deliver measurable annualized savings for assigned projects
• Drive design standardization and optimization across sites to improve efficiency and scalability
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at or below target cost through robust engineering planning (quality,
cost, schedule, and risk)
• Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to analyze issues and implement effective solutions
Collaborate cross-functionally with sourcing, operations, quality, service, and global R&D teams, as well as external suppliers
and partners
•Support the development of team capability by sharing technical expertise and contributing to knowledge building across
product lines
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within the team
Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience preferred
• Strong track record of driving strategic cost reduction and VAVE initiatives
• Proven experience managing end-to-end VAVE projects (from scoping to implementation)
• Proficiency in product cost analysis, teardown, competitive benchmarking, and engineering optimization techniques
• Solid understanding of global engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and product qualification processes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
• VAVE certification and/or PMP certification (good to have)
•Experience with PLM tools such as Teamcenter and CAD platforms like UG/NX (UGX), along with foundational knowledge and hands-on exposure to simulation tools such as Ansys.
