DESCRIPTION:
Join our collaborative team as a Technical Support Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll contribute to innovation and excellence in our manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll manage key projects to optimize production processes, implement automation solutions, and ensure the highest quality standards in our facilities. Working with cross-functional teams, you'll develop and improve manufacturing processes, guide continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to new product introductions. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on products that help our customers make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree or Bachelor's Degree plus experience in manufacturing engineering in a GMP/regulated environment
• Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, or related field)
• Professional certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt, PMP, or similar preferred
• Strong expertise in process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience with validation protocols and documentation (IQ, OQ, PQ)
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and DOE (Design of Experiments)
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and PPI (Practical Process Improvement)
• Experience with project management and capital equipment installations
• Strong technical writing skills for SOPs, protocols, and engineering documentation
• Expertise in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrated success in root cause analysis and problem-solving
• Experience with quality management systems and regulatory compliance (ISO, GMP)
• Strong ability to guide and mentor team members
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
• Proficiency in English required
• Experience working in clean room environments and wearing appropriate PPE as needed
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
