WPP Production is looking for a QC Print
What does a Print QC do at WPP Production?
The Print QC ensures that all print and static assets are delivered error-free, technically accurate, and fully compliant with brand guidelines, localization requirements, and production specifications. This role is critical in safeguarding quality across high-volume, multi-market print deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and Validate Final Print Deliverables
Examine all print-ready files (e.g., PDFs, packaging artwork, OOH, POS, press ads) to ensure they meet brand guidelines, technical specifications, and project requirements prior to release.
- Perform Preflight and Technical Checks
Run preflight validations to confirm correct file setup, including color modes (CMYK, Pantone), image resolution, bleed, trim, slug, overprint settings, and font embedding.
- Flag and Document Quality Issues
Identify and clearly log issues such as typos, misalignments, incorrect dielines, color inconsistencies, missing assets, or incorrect formats using QC logs and proofing tools.
- Cross-Check Against Briefs and Master Files
Validate that all deliverables match the approved master artwork, client brief, and adaptation guidelines across versions, formats, and markets.
- Validate Localization and Versioning Accuracy
Ensure translated copy is accurate, properly placed, and consistent across all versions. Verify that legal lines, disclaimers, pricing, and market-specific elements are correct.
- Ensure Print Production Compliance
Confirm files are compliant with printer/vendor specifications, including correct color profiles, ink limits, trapping, separations, and finishing requirements (e.g., varnishes, embossing, foils).
- Use Proofing Tools and QC Checklists
Leverage proofing platforms (e.g., Acrobat, InDesign, online proofing tools) and standardized QC checklists to ensure consistent and thorough reviews.
- Collaborate with Design, Production, and PM Teams
Work closely with designers, artworkers, project managers, and print vendors to resolve issues quickly and ensure smooth delivery.
- Support End-to-End Quality Assurance
Proactively identify recurring issues in workflows, versioning, or file setup, and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field
- Experience working with US-based accounts or clients.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- +5 years of experience in print production, artwork, or print QC roles
