The Role:

The Senior Front-End Developer (Lead) needs to build/modify responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. based on the visual briefs. The Senior Front-End Developer (Lead) will work on localization of the page based on the assets provided which includes updating links, images, and text in accordance to the client’s coding standards. The Senior Front-End developer will be responsible for the quality of the code produced directly and by the appointed team of developers.

They will work closely with other discipline leads (QA/PM) to ensure scoping, estimates and requirements are estimated correctly and delivered with minimal errors.

They must be enthusiastic about technology and constantly be looking at the next innovation. They will participate for creating new bash scripts / python scripts to improve workflows for needs for all functions. On top of possessing strong oral, interpersonal and organizational abilities, they must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Flexibility and tolerance are a necessity.

Key responsibilities:

• They will be required to support with the training and mentoring of the development team
• Liaise with QA and PM teams to update on progress and drive the development to deliver to the highest standard
• Develop new digital assets as identified by supervisor and management
• Modify existing code to accommodate for a locale or create now assets based on existing guidelines – including changing image paths, server-side includes (SSI), file names, directories, other elements, and other development tasks 

• Ensure all your work is performed according to the brief
• Develop fast and efficiently to meet tight deadlines
• Produce digital assets in several languages
• Update and amend existing assets
• Maintain client digital assets to the best of their ability using clean, accessible mark-up according to the latest web standards
• Help and advise Project Managers with client’s digital requests
• Keep an eye on the latest trends to help boost development efficiencies
• Awareness of the client's mobile platform with the ability to build solutions that take advantage of the latest operating system features while remaining performant on the latest devices
• Take technical briefs from the client and brief it on to the rest of the team
• Interview and train new hires
• Share best practices with the other members of the Development team across other locations.
• Support interactive development kit enhancements.
• Take active role to develop new scripts / applications for all other functions needs.

Requirements:

• BA degree in computer science, MIS, or related experience with a grasp on data structures and algorithms
• Fluent in English and [native language], both written and spoken
• Experience leading teams of developers and oversight/delivery of successful web projects
• Self-driven, detail-oriented, and highly organized
• Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset
• Experience of creating technical and functional specifications
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Core Responsibilities & Experience

• Proven experience in building scalable, maintainable front-end architectures
• Experience with localization processes
• Knowledge of the challenges of mailing and newsletter builds
• Ability to create clear technical and functional specifications
• Strong experience with version control systems (Git, preferably also SVN)
• Experience working with task management tools (e.g. Jira) and breaking down complex work into deliverables
• Solid understanding of branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies
• Establishing and maintaining coding standards and best practices within teams
• Experience with Python (especially for tooling, and scrape scripting)
• Experience with React or similar modern frameworks
• Experience building desktop applications ( Electron is a plus)
• Understanding of AI tools and AI integrations 

Technical Skills

• Experience of establishing code standards and best practice within development teams
• Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
• Experience with CSS preprocessors (e.g. Sass) and modern build tools
• Hands-on experience with responsive and adaptive design principles
• Solid understanding of accessibility (a11y) and SEO best practices
• Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap or similar)
• Familiarity with localization/internationalization processes
• Clear understanding of Usability

Modern Front-End & Tooling

• Experience with modern front-end ecosystems and workflows
• Strong understanding of component-based architecture
• Familiarity with testing approaches and code quality tools

Additional Assets

• Experience with email template development is a plus

Others

• Willingness to travel when required (occasionally for extended periods)
• Amenable to work in BGC in a hybrid/onsite set-up
• Amenable to work in midshift schedule
