Your role and responsibilities
Leads test planning and execution for R&D projects of ABB low-voltage electrical products and drives product qualification throughout the lifecycle. Acts as the technical owner for assigned CNAS accreditation fields, maintaining and expanding laboratory capabilities. Promotes laboratory digitalization and test capability development to ensure compliance with domestic and international standards as well as ABB quality requirements. Drives a zero-defect culture within the laboratory and establishes a systematic laboratory knowledge base to enhance testing efficiency and knowledge reuse.

This role is contributing to the Smart Building division in China.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Lead test planning for new product development projects, develop, and align with project milestones;
Interpret product specifications and standard requirements, define test methods, resources, and risk assessment;
Coordinate internal and external test resources, monitor progress, and drive rapid resolution of anomalies.
Responsible for type tests, reliability tests, and certification tests to ensure compliance with GB, IEC, and ABB internal standards;
Review R&D outputs (MRS, TS, design manuals) for testability and identify design risks early;
Analyze test data and prepare professional test reports with accuracy and traceability;
Support factory audits and guide cross-functional teams in closing non-conformities related to product verification.
Act as CNAS technical owner for assigned standard fields, leading accreditation maintenance and scope expansion;
Establish and maintain laboratory quality documents (work instructions, records) in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025;
Conduct method validation, uncertainty evaluation, and proficiency testing activities;
Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure continuous compliance with CNAS requirements.
Participate in new test capability development: equipment selection, commissioning, calibration, and maintenance coordination;
Track updates to GB, IEC, EN standards and assess impact on test methods and product compliance;
Lead test project lesson-learned reviews, update design checklists, and feed improvements back to R&D;
Develop and deliver technical training to R&D, quality, and operations teams on test standards and methods;
Drive zero-defect culture in the laboratory: Lead the implementation of zero-defect principles in testing activities through preventive mechanisms, process control, and root cause analysis to continuously reduce test failures and quality risks;
Establish laboratory knowledge base: Build a systematic laboratory knowledge management system covering typical test cases, failure mode libraries, standard interpretations, equipment operation guidelines, etc., to enhance knowledge sharing efficiency and technical competency retention.
Demonstrates ABB’s core values and group safety and integrity standards;
Implements and ensures compliance with ABB Code of Conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies, and processes;
Ensures adherence to all relevant internal and statutory regulations;
Demonstrates understanding of HSE terms, application, reporting, and risks.
Collaborates effectively with R&D, quality, production, and external laboratories to maximize results for ABB;
