Key responsibilities
As a Service Engineer for Drive Systems, you will work on demanding service assignments worldwide aboard ships. You ensure reliable operation of the systems by applying high quality and safety standards and contributing your technical expertise in the field.
You work closely with internal teams and customers, acting as a key on-site contact. Even in challenging environments, you maintain a clear overview and always act in a professional and responsible manner.
At the same time, you benefit from a strong support network, clear structures, and sufficient time to recover between assignments.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Troubleshooting and resolving issues ranging from simple to highly complex.
Performing maintenance activities and installing new equipment.
Providing technical support to customers, both remotely and on-site, and identifying opportunities to improve their operations.
Collaborating closely with the coordination team, project managers, colleagues, and contractors to ensure fast and successful completion of activities.
Preparing reports, recommendations, and other administrative documentation – an integral part of the service role.
Applying safety rules and safe working practices in all tasks and reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents.
Qualifications for the role
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Several years of experience in maintenance, servicing, commissioning, and repair of frequency drives, preferably also in automation systems. Experience with ABB products is an advantage.
Willingness and ability to travel worldwide, with a flexible schedule and a high degree of autonomy in the field.
Positive attitude and a strong team- and customer-oriented mindset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German is an advantage.
Valid driving license (category B).
