Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be the front-line face of ABB in the channel market, driving sales growth and building lasting partnerships with distributors, contractors, and system integrators. You will own the sales of ABB's innovative electrification products, systems, and solutions across designated market segments delivering qualitative and quantitative sales targets while driving market share growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. As a trusted advisor to your channel partners, you will identify emerging market opportunities, develop solutions tailored to customer needs, and communicate ABB's value proposition with clarity and impact.


The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Building in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Main stakeholders are channel partners (distributors, contractors, integrators), and internal ABB sales and marketing teams.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Driving sales growth and market penetration achieving both revenue targets and market share goals through strategic channel partner management and direct customer engagement in assigned segments (Building, Industrial, Data Centre, Factory).

  • Building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with channel partners, including distributors, contractors, and system integrators ensuring they have the knowledge and support to effectively sell ABB solutions.

  • Communicating ABB's value proposition clearly and compellingly educating partners and customers on product features, technical specifications, delivery timelines, payment terms, and commercial strategies aligned with ABB's market positioning.

  • Supporting customer needs identification and solution development, working closely with partners to understand customer requirements, recommend technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions, and prepare competitive proposals.

  • Ensuring efficient marketing and promotional activities by collaborating with the marketing team to execute product launches, technical seminars, demonstrations, and customer engagement activities that drive market awareness and demand.

  • Managing sales administration and processes, handling order management, supporting cash collection, coordinating project-related activities, and maintaining accurate records in CRM and sales systems.


Qualifications for the role

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.

  • Minimum 5 years of front-end sales experience in the electrical industry, with proven success in channel sales, distribution, project sales, or segment/application engineering.

  • Strong relationships and networks within key market segments: Building Automation, General Industry, Semiconductors, Data Centre, or Factory.

  • Good understanding/Famialarity of Low Voltage (LV) a products and channel sales.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with ability to build trust with partners and customers.
