Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to foster professional development.

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Procurement Specialist to join wiring accessory in Shanghai. This role requires a strong technical background combined with deep procurement expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to deliver cost savings and supplier performance improvements. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and is passionate about operational excellence.

Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement activities for assigned categories, including plastics, metals, mechanical components, and electronic parts.

Drive supplier negotiation, contract management, and supplier development to achieve optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance.

Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to evaluate supplier capabilities and qualify new supply sources.

Apply deep knowledge of plastic injection molding, structural/metal fabrication, component manufacturing, and assembly processes in supplier assessments and cost analysis.

Partner with production and operations teams on OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvement and production line efficiency optimization initiatives.

Support sourcing of electronic components (EE) and smart consumer product-related materials.

Lead and manage procurement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality targets are met.

Develop and maintain procurement dashboards and KPI reports using Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

Identify and mitigate supply chain risks proactively; maintain business continuity plans.

Mentor and guide junior procurement team members.

Experience & Education

10 – 15 years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) preferred.

Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost reduction.

Technical Knowledge

Strong know-how of plastic injection molding, structural/metal components manufacturing, and assembly processes.

Very good understanding of OEE metrics and production line efficiency improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).

Solid understanding of EE (electronic components) and smart consumer product supply chains.

Familiarity with cost breakdown analysis, should-cost modeling, and value engineering.

Skills & Competencies

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage complex supplier relationships.

Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI experience is a strong advantage.

Good English communication skills (both written and spoken) for cross-functional and international collaboration.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.

Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently under pressure.

Engineering background with hands-on experience in manufacturing environments.

Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement platforms.

Experience working in a multinational company (MNC) environment.

Power BI dashboard development experience.

Certifications in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPM) or project management (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
