Head of Regulatory Affairs

Belgium , Brussels
Full-time

Are you ready to shape the rules that define the future of insurance? Join Allianz as our Head of Regulatory Affairs and lead the strategic dialogue between one of the world's leading insurers and the policymakers who set the agenda.

In this high-impact leadership role, you'll be Allianz's trusted voice to regulators and supervisors across European and international markets. As our business accelerates - through digitalization, platform strategies, and product innovation - you'll ensure the regulatory environment keeps pace and works in favour of quality, integrity, and long-term value creation.

This isn't about compliance. It's about influence, foresight, and protecting billions in business value by shaping regulation before it shapes us.

What We Offer?

  • A strategic leadership position with direct Board and C-level visibility
  • The chance to influence regulatory frameworks at European and international level
  • Collaboration with top experts across legal, financial, actuarial, and technology domains
  • Competitive compensation and benefits aligned with a top-tier global insurer
  • Access to Allianz's global network, knowledge, and career development opportunities
  • A purpose-driven culture built on integrity, innovation, and inclusion

Your Responsibilities:

  • Own the regulatory dialogue : Serve as the strategic interface to regulators and supervisors, building trust-based relationships at Board, CEO, and C-1 level
  • Drive proactive advocacy: Anticipate regulatory developments and engage policymakers early - shaping outcomes quarters before key business decisions are made
  • Deliver data-driven impact analysis: Develop and implement a rigorous impact analysis framework to assess the business effect of regulatory scenarios (focused on material files with >1% OP impact)
  • Bridge the knowledge gap: Translate complex business strategies - digitalization, platforms, verticalization - into clear, data-driven narratives for institutional audiences
  • Mobilize cross-functional expertise: Swiftly distill technical, legal, and financial know-how from multiple practices to deliver immediate, high-caliber feedback to regulators
  • Manage reputational capital: Maintain full visibility across the portfolio of regulatory and supervisory files, optimizing Allianz's positioning and credibility
  • Build coalitions: Develop networks of partnerships and alliances to amplify Allianz's voice in policy debates
  • Steer governance: Establish a chain of responsibility for regulatory risk exposure at OE and regional level, engaging both business and control functions

Your Profile:

  • You're a senior economist with 10+ years of experience in a top-tier insurance or financial services institution. You combine deep expertise in products, market segments, and their regulatory frameworks with excellent microeconomic analytical capabilities. Beyond your technical strength, you excel at building high-level, trust-based relationships with institutional leaders - and you know how to turn complex analysis into compelling, actionable narratives.
  • You hold a Master's or PhD in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, or a related field. You have a strong track record in regulatory affairs, public policy, or senior advisory roles. You understand European insurance regulation (Solvency II, IDD, DORA, AI Act) inside out and navigate both formal and informal consultation processes with confidence. You're fluent in English, and additional French/Dutch languages are a strong asset.
  • At Allianz, we're always on the lookout for individuals who are enthusiastic about AI and Data Analytics to shape the future and drive innovation across our organization.
  • Above all, you see regulatory dialogue not as a defensive exercise, but as a strategic lever - and you're ready to lead it.
