The Opportunity: Reinsurance Underwriter / Actuary

We are seeking a talented Reinsurance Underwriter / Actuary to join our team in Dublin. In this role, you will underwrite and price non-life proportional and non-proportional treaty reinsurance business, working alongside a specialist team of reinsurance underwriters and actuaries.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Analyse Property & Casualty reinsurance treaty submissions and present clear, well-structured findings to stakeholders.
  • Conduct transaction pricing using standard Allianz Re pricing tools, while also developing bespoke pricing models to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with the local specialist team to establish and support technical pricing opinions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across Allianz Re at Group level and internationally.
  • Review and contribute to the development of policy wordings for internal treaty reinsurance business.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes and outcomes.
  • Share technical knowledge and tools with colleagues, while actively developing your own expertise.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting to ensure reinsurance pricing is allocated and treated correctly.

 

Key Requirements / Skills & Experience 

Essential: 

  • Qualified or part-qualified Actuary
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in actuarial roles within the non-life insurance industry
  • Proven experience in reinsurance underwriting and pricing
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and deliver technical solutions to business stakeholders
  • In-depth understanding of the reinsurance market, including key competitors, industry trends, and the regulatory landscape
