DESCRIPTION:

Amazon's Mexico Legal Team is seeking a talented attorney to support our Consumer Business, a large and diverse team building the technology and programs that help millions of customers shop in our stores. You will provide day-to-day legal support to business clients focused on launching new initiatives and product categories. You will partner with the business team on a broad range of product, commercial, marketing and regulatory matters, such as ensuring compliance with regulators and supporting strategic business relationships.

Key job responsibilities
- Providing ongoing legal support in a wide range of legal areas, such as competition, consumer protection, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Serving as lead counsel and directly advising business clients on products, services, and strategic deals.
- Structuring, drafting and negotiating complex commercial deals.
- Ability to function autonomously yet communicates laterally and upwardly with ease.
- Strong legal and business judgment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish languages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 4+ years of Inhouse legal or law firm experience
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English at C1 level or above
- Mexican Law degree (Licenciatura en Derecho, J.D., or foreign equivalent that has been homologated in Mexico)
- Experience advising on regulatory legal matters

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
- Experience influencing senior leaders/stakeholders
- Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Legal experience in any of the following areas is a plus: retail, marketing
