DESCRIPTION:
AWS is seeking an experienced Senior Payments Specialist to join the Worldwide Financial Services Industry (FSI) Business Unit. In this role, you will guide EMEA's leading Banking and Payments customers, broker/dealers, asset managers, hedge funds, and wealth managers in accelerating their adoption of AI and Cloud technologies.
This role is ideally suited to someone with front office experience in buy-side or sell-side financial institutions who believes that AI and Cloud will be the primary drivers of growth and transformation across financial services.

Effectively position AWS as a strategic and trusted partner to our EMEA customers
Coach account teams and help define the strategic direction for top accounts, with a focus on line of business solutions and business sponsors
Lead pre-sales activities for Banking/ & Payments accounts, work with AWS Marketing to support lead-generation and sales-acceleration activities, and influence downstream activities with global and multi-national customers
Identify and help define the requirements for new service or packaged offerings, in collaboration with the Financial Services Market Development team, AWS Professional Services, AWS services teams, partners, and Amazon product teams
Conduct executive workshops with industry leaders and executives
Effectively position AWS in Banking & Payments through participation in industry conferences, executive briefings, and other public speaking opportunities
Work closely with AWS technical experts in solutioning, developing, and delivering AWS-based solutions to customers
Support the AWS Partner Network and key industry technology providers with their solutions and service line offerings developed and running on AWS
Understand and exploit the use of Salesforce and internal Amazon systems for campaign tracking and pipeline management
Prepare and present business reviews to senior management regarding progress and roadblocks.
Travel may be required for this role, up to 50%

The role balances business development with deep domain expertise, ensuring financial institutions innovate while meeting strict security and compliance standards.
Supporting local sales leadership, and FS Global Segment leads in the development of industry narratives and sales accelerators.

The AWS EMEA Financial Services Industry (FSI) team supports AWS's largest industry segment in EMEA. We are a diverse team operating across the EMEA region. The team spans banking, insurance, capital markets, and payments across nine EMEA geographies, with a strong focus on security, compliance, and innovation. It comprises industry specialists who drive customer engagement, cloud adoption, and go-to-market strategies. Priority areas include Generative AI, operational resilience (DORA), cloud migration, customer experience transformation, and real-time analytics - helping financial institutions modernize and innovate on AWS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience solving problems with technology in the Global Financial Services Industry
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience working with Core Cloud Technology Services, including, but not limited to Compute, Edge, Hybrid, Security, and/or Networking
- Experience in Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting
