DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a strategic, self-directed Business Analyst III to join our team. In this role, you will independently own complex analytical workstreams, define the analytical strategy for key programs, and influence product and operational decisions at a cross-functional level. You will serve as a subject matter expert in data, processes, and business logic - driving measurable improvements in compliance, verification, and operational efficiency. You are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, proactively identify opportunities, and lead initiatives from problem definition through to impact measurement.
Key job responsibilities
1)Technical Analytics & Data Gathering
-Extract, analyze, and interpret large-scale complex datasets using SQL, Python, R, Hadoop/Hive, Redshift, Oracle, or NoSQL databases
-Design and develop automated data pipelines and sophisticated analytical models
-Build and maintain self-service analytics platforms including role-based dashboards, drill-downs, alerts, and performance definitions
-Apply complex transformations within spreadsheets, SQL, or other tools to generate actionable recommendations
-Validate data accuracy and guarantee data fidelity by partnering with data owners, production systems, and right sources
-Proactively collaborate with data owners to improve data quality and coverage
2)Business Insights Generation
-Perform deep-dive root-cause analysis and create metrics-driven, actionable, sustainable solutions
-Build and manage KPIs to measure, control, and benchmark reporting processes
-Use quantitative analysis to understand business drivers beyond surface-level metrics
-Identify key performance drivers, quantify their impact on critical metrics, and deliver actionable recommendations
-Proactively monitor internal and external metrics to stay informed on business performance
-Generate recommendations that directly inform organizational business decisions
-Provide proactive analysis to support long-term strategic goals
3)Complex Problem Solving & Strategic Decision Support
-Implement analytics solutions in complex, ambiguous, or poorly designed problem spaces
-Distinguish between one-way and two-way doors in decision-making processes
-Proactively identify complex problems or opportunities and design long-term solutions
-Use data analysis and business understanding to solve complex problems that drive decisions and actions
-Flexibly leverage various technical tools depending on problem requirements
-Make informed short-term versus long-term tradeoff decisions
-Balance level of effort with business value when determining build versus buy decisions
4)End-to-End Leadership & Execution
-Lead analytical projects end-to-end, partnering with technical experts for advanced analytics when needed
-Deliver independently while seeking direction as needed and keeping team informed
-Assess risks and clear blockers with appropriate resources, escalating when necessary
-Make appropriate trade-offs and influence others to simplify their approaches
-Maintain consistently high-quality work that answers business questions accurately, is error-free, and well-documented
-Execute both tactical and strategic work on programs driving long-term decisions and actions
-Own items on organizational roadmap and influence strategy through delivered solutions
5)Cross-Functional Partnership & Collaboration
-Partner with Product, Program, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design scalable, user-friendly BA solutions
-Collaborate across business, operational, financial, product, and technical teams
-Create and implement data-driven improvements that deliver flexible, efficient products for customers
-Prepare and deliver business requirements reviews to senior management
-Influence dependency teams regarding data platform direction and strategy to scale data communication
6)Stakeholder Communication & Influence
-Regularly provide analytics solution summaries with insights and recommendations to senior leaders
-Present decisions confidently to leaders up to three levels above
-Write and present narratives (6-pagers, MBR/QBR/HBR/YBR, COEs, Mission, Tenets, PR/FAQs) to leadership and cross-functional teams
-Communicate across diverse locales, roles, and functions (Design, Product/Program, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, PR, Sales, external partners)
-Seek diverse perspectives, listen to feedback, and adapt direction for better outcomes
7)Team Development & Analytical Leadership
-Mentor junior analysts in analytical techniques and problem-solving methodologies
-Actively recruit and develop others by mentoring, improving their skills, business knowledge, analytics solutions expertise, and execution capability
-Serve as analytical leader and expert in synthesizing business knowledge and data across diverse subject areas
-Force multiply by enabling others and scaling impact beyond individual contributions
About the team
Relay Product Excellence's mission is to monitor Transaction Integrity for products supporting Identity Verification, Account Support, and Compliance across Carrier and Driver processes. Our team works at the intersection of risk management, regulatory compliance, and data-driven operations - partnering with product and technology teams to ensure the integrity and reliability of processes at scale.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units
- 5+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks
- Experience managing competing priorities and using metrics to drive business decisions
- Experience with data processing needs and trade-offs
- Experience with advanced analytics
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science, or experience working in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- 7+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 5+ years writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Quicksite, Power BI, or similar tools
- Proven ability to assess risks, clear blockers with right resources, and escalate when appropriate
- Ability to quickly learn and gain proficiency in new technical tools and languages
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
