DESCRIPTION:
The Contra-COGS team in Bratislava is looking for an organised and detail-oriented Finance Analyst to join our team. Contra-COGS (contrary to the cost of goods sold) represents vendor funding collected against product costs - including cooperative marketing, volume incentives, and price protections - and is a key input to retail profitability.
In this role, you'll help maintain accurate financial reporting, reconcile vendor agreements, and support compliance processes across Amazon's European, Middle Eastern, African, and Asia-Pacific markets. You'll review promotional activity, work alongside finance and retail teams, and look for ways to improve the tools and processes we use day to day. If you enjoy working with data, keeping things structured, and want to understand how commercial finance operates at scale, this could be a strong fit.
At Amazon, we believe that in-person collaboration is essential to our culture and innovation. While we allow flexibility for personal circumstances, we generally expect employees to work from our offices five days a week. This approach has consistently shown that spontaneous interactions, rapid problem-solving, and the energy of in-person teamwork lead to better results for our customers. In particular, our data shows that teams working together in person are more effective at making complex decisions, onboarding new team members, and fostering the kind of creative collaboration that has driven Amazon's success. The serendipitous hallway conversations and impromptu whiteboarding sessions that happen naturally in an office environment have proven invaluable to our invention process and maintaining our high bar for excellence.
