DESCRIPTION:

Every dollar AWS invests in hardware shapes the cost, performance, and competitiveness of the AWS cloud that powers the internet. Come join AWS Finance as a Strategic Finance Manager, where you will own the economics and investment strategy behind the next generation of AWS servers. Your analysis will shape multi-billion-dollar capital decisions, define where AWS invests to win on cost and performance, and go directly to senior leadership. Using tools such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Net Present Value (NPV), you will translate complex technology choices into a clear investment thesis. You do not need to be a hardware expert to join this team.

What you will do:
- Own the investment thesis for major hardware programs, shaping multi-billion-dollar capital allocation decisions.
- Define the cost and performance strategy that determines where AWS invests to win competitively at scale.
- Bring recommendations directly to AWS senior leadership and influence the hardware roadmap.
- Lead TCO and NPV analysis to evaluate technology trade-offs and rank investment options against customer requirements.
- Own the cost framework that underpins every hardware investment decision, and drive it to be faster and sharper.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
