DESCRIPTION:

Amazon MGM Studios is shaping the future of entertainment globally, and our Japan Local Originals slate continues to grow rapidly. We are seeking a Production Finance Manager to support the financial operations of Local Original productions in Japan.
This is an opportunity to join one of the most innovative businesses at Amazon, directly supporting a high-performing content team. The successful candidate will support Production Finance operations across multiple show productions at various stages of the production lifecycle, working closely with production accounting teams, production service companies, and internal stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and controllership. This role requires someone who is highly analytical, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can work with large sets of data while exercising sound judgment on difficult projects and issues.
This role will be based in Tokyo, Japan.

Key job responsibilities
Production Finance Operations
•Support Production Finance operations across multiple show productions in various phases (development, pre-production, production, and post-production).
•Collect, review, and validate monthly financial reporting (cost reports, General Ledger, Trial Balance, etc.) for multiple productions on a timely basis.
•Track and quantify financial performance of shows against budget and projected cash flow needs, identifying data inaccuracies to maintain data integrity.
•Manage weekly cash flow and funding schedules for assigned projects in multiple currencies, ensuring cash flow tracks reasonably with projected spend and adjusting funding schedules to adequately support production activities while avoiding excess funding.
•Comprehend and articulate details and root causes relating to production and funding variances.

Budget Management and Cost Tracking
•Support the Production Finance team in scrutinizing production budgets and ensuring accurate cost control and forecasting throughout the production lifecycle.
•Gather data to accurately populate standard financial and operational reports (e.g., MBR reports, month-end reports) and deliver valuable insights across multiple productions.
•Collect and communicate up-to-date information from financial reports (e.g., cost reports) to internal stakeholders.

Compliance and Controllership
•Understand policies, procedures, and control risks and effectively reinforce the fiduciary responsibilities of production accounting teams within existing Finance and Accounting Guidelines.
•Onboard local production accounting teams during pre-production to ensure compliance with Studio finance and accounting guidelines.
•Work closely with Senior Production Finance Executives to ensure compliance of the close-out of released wholly-owned and co-production titles.
•Track production tax incentive estimates and workflows to ensure up-to-date financial information is provided to the team.
Process Improvement and Collaboration
•Identify gaps in the flow of information between internal and external stakeholders and propose solutions to standardize workflows for the team.
•Initiate change and improve reports and processes with automation or further insights, with support of the team.
•Independently address process, policy, and procedure questions or issues that arise during day-to-day accounting operations of assigned shows.
•Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop efficient SOPs for difficult tasks.

•複数通貨での担当プロジェクトの週次キャッシュフローおよびファンディングスケジュールを管理し、キャッシュフローが予測支出と合理的に一致していることを確認するとともに、制作活動を十分にサポートしつつ過剰なファンディングを避けるようスケジュールを調整する。
•制作上の差異およびファンディングの差異に関する詳細と根本原因を把握し、明確に説明する。

予算管理とコスト追跡
•プロダクション・ファイナンスチームをサポートし、制作ライフサイクル全体を通じて制作予算の精査、正確なコスト管理および予測を確保する。
•標準的な財務・業務報告書（MBRレポート、月次報告書など）に正確に記入するためのデータを収集し、複数の制作案件にわたって有益なインサイトを提供する。
•財務報告書（コストレポートなど）から最新情報を収集し、社内ステークホルダーに共有する。
コンプライアンスと内部統制
•方針、手続き、統制リスクを理解し、既存の財務・会計ガイドラインの範囲内で制作経理チームの受託者責任を効果的に強化する。
•プリプロダクション期間中に現地制作経理チームのオンボーディングを行い、スタジオの財務・会計ガイドラインへの準拠を確保する。
•制作物のデジタルファイル管理体制のコンプライアンスを確保し、完了時にすべてのファイルが納品されるようにする。
•シニア・プロダクション・ファイナンス・エグゼクティブと緊密に連携し、自社制作およびコプロダクションタイトルのクローズアウト処理のコンプライアンスを確保する。
•制作税制優遇措置の見積もりとワークフローを追跡し、最新の財務情報をチームに提供する。

プロセス改善と協業
•社内外のステークホルダー間の情報フローのギャップを特定し、チームのワークフローを標準化するための解決策を提案する。
•チームのサポートのもと、自動化やさらなるインサイトの活用によってレポートやプロセスの変革・改善を推進する。
•担当番組の日常的な経理業務において生じるプロセス、方針、手続きに関する疑問や課題に独自に対応する。
•社内外のパートナーと協力し、複雑なタスクに対応する効率的な標準作業手順（SOP）を構築する。

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education).
- 6+ years of progressive industry experience in production accounting or in a studio production finance role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights effectively.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English (written and verbal).

- Experience with budgeting and financial analysis for large-scale productions in the Japanese entertainment industry.
- Experience managing multi-currency cash flows and production funding.
- Knowledge of relevant Japanese financial regulations and entertainment industry standards.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., QuickSight, Tableau).
- Experience working with production service companies and 3P auditors.
- Familiarity with Amazon Studios production finance guidelines and processes.
