Gerente de Área – Brazil (Cajamar-SP), Books Operation

Brazil , Cajamar
Full-time

DESCRIPTION:

As an Area Manager for Books business, you will lead a team of hourly associates through the daily rhythm of digital book production-from printing through binding, finishing, and ship-ready packaging. You will focus on four fundamentals: safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity. This is a floor-based leadership role in a production environment, not a corporate function. You will stay close to the equipment, the team, and the operation, with direct accountability for daily performance and customer outcomes.

Key job responsibilities
•Own the safety, quality, and productivity of your assigned production area, driving daily performance against targets.
•Lead, coach, and develop a team of hourly associates, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
•Analyze production forecasts and determine daily staffing and throughput requirements to meet overall site goals.
•Partner with other Area Managers to balance workload across areas, ensuring smooth end-to-end flow.
•Support all safety programs and regulatory compliance to guarantee a safe working environment for every associate.
•Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives using Lean tools and root cause analysis.
•Monitor machine performance, quality metrics (DPMO, waste rates), and escalate equipment issues to maintenance and engineering.
•Contribute to launch readiness activities including equipment qualification, training deployment, and SOP development.

A day in the life
You will spend much of your shift on the production floor, leading your team and staying close to the operation. You will review safety, production targets, staffing and equipment status, while monitoring performance, coaching associates and resolving operational or technical issues with support teams.

In Print on Demand, priorities can change quickly, requiring data-driven decisions, problem solving and labor adjustments to protect safety, quality and customer commitments.

- 3x2 shift pattern (3 days on / 3 off, 2 days on / 2 off)
- 12-hour shifts (06:00-18:00 or 18:00-05:00)
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
