DESCRIPTION:

A relocation will be possible if certain criteria are met. As a Lab Safety Engineer you lead the EHS department at the respective location. You will work closely with the local management and report directly to the AR EHS Global Lab Safety Manager.
Key job responsibilities
•Owning EHS compliance for a robotics research and development lab;
•Conducting risk assessments and driving implementation of risk reduction measures;
•Advising employees and management on the subject of occupational health and safety and environmental regulations;
•Advising and influencing designs around machinery safety requirements and standards;
•Implementing legal and Amazon internal requirements in occupational health safety and environmental regulations;
•Working with various support functions (HR, Engineering, Facilities);
•Ensuring compliance with California Occupational Safety and Health laws and guidelines as well as company guidelines and completing the necessary formalities to comply with them;
•Evaluating accidents and statistics and developing prevention programs to avoid accidents;
•Supporting environmental regulations and programs;
•Creating a safe work culture and promoting dedication to occupational health and safety measures of management and teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
- Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure experienceThe base salary range for this position is listed below.
