DESCRIPTION:

We are building a large tech organization for Amazon Freight from scratch. Amazon Freight is now part of Amazon Supply Chain Services and is building an innovative transportation network with the vision of redefining shipping for its customers. To grow our Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and Truckload (TL) business continues, we are looking to building state of the art and brand new (1) network capabilities (2) shipper/seller facing capabilities (3) science capabilities execution optimization.

The new team will be building foundational core capabilities around (1) Shipment Execution- Quoting and Booking, Carrier/Driver Workflow , Shipper Workflow ,shipper signals, Driver/Shipper Handoffs, 3P Site Intelligence, demand side Disruption Mgmt (2) Trailer Operations - Trailer Pool Mgmt. , Equipment Assignment, Quality & Prep (3) Scheduling & Optimization - Shipper Scheduling workflow, Cost-Optimal Demand shaping, Cancellations/Reschedules (4) Cost, Demand & Volume Planning - Cost Planning & Prediction , Forecasting.

This position requires strong business judgment, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational excellence, is comfortable making data-driven decisions in ambiguous environments and has experience translating complex transportation economics into scalable network execution strategies. Key job responsibilities
- Define and deliver large-scale, cross-organizational programs by identifying gaps between architectures, services, and organizations, decomposing complex problems into clear solutions, and driving alignment across engineering teams toward coherent technology strategies.
- Own technology roadmaps for broad sets of systems or manage a portfolio of programs, applying deep technical knowledge to evolve, improve, and simplify technologies while minimizing recurring engineering effort.
- Drive business and system-level reviews, assess risk, and represent complex decisions and trade-offs clearly to senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making up to three levels above your role.
- Create, optimize, and drive adoption of mechanisms that ensure long-term program success, proactively steering teams away from prior failure patterns and identifying when additional technical guidance is needed.
- Amplify impact across the organization by mentoring other program managers, sharing best practices, and contributing to talent development through assessments and community events.

A day in the life
You might start your morning reviewing a technical design document alongside senior engineers, asking pointed questions to uncover hidden dependencies. By midday, you could be facilitating a cross-team alignment session to resolve competing priorities across multiple service owners. In the afternoon, you may draft a narrative for a VP-level review, distilling weeks of analysis into a clear recommendation with well-defined trade-offs. Throughout it all, you balance strategic thinking with hands-on problem solving, ensuring that the programs you lead move forward with the right urgency and quality.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
