Imagine designing the logistics network that will define Amazon Japan's next chapter of growth.

We are looking for a Senior Program Manager to join the External Fulfillment (EF) Planning Team within Amazon Japan's Operations Division - a team that sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and innovation.

What is EF?
External Fulfillment operates fulfillment centers run by 3PL partners and vendors - not Amazon's own FCs. These sites specialize in large, heavy, and temperature-sensitive products that demand unique logistics solutions. By scaling this network, the EF team unlocks product selection that customers never thought they could get delivered fast - and delivers it at speeds that redefine expectations.

What you'll own:
You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of EF sites - launching new logistics centers and managing them as a business after go-live. This isn't project management that ends at launch; you build it, then you run it.

EF拠点のライフサイクル全体 - 新規物流センターの立ち上げと、稼働後の事業管理 - をオーナーとして担います。ローンチして終わりではなく、自分で立ち上げ、自分で運営する。それがこのポジションです。

Key job responsibilities
■ Lead the Launch of New EF Sites:
Own the end-to-end launch process for new EF logistics centers. Coordinate with Supply Chain, Retail, Real Estate, and 3PL partners to drive site readiness - from vendor selection and contract negotiation through operational go-live. Manage timelines, resolve cross-functional blockers, and ensure each site launches on schedule and meets quality standards.

■ Drive Post-Launch Business Management:
Once a site is operational, own its business performance. Manage P&L, lead QBRs with 3PL partners, identify and execute cost optimization initiatives, and monitor operational KPIs to ensure sustained performance. Proactively address issues before they impact customer experience or cost targets.

■ Propose and Implement Logistics Network Solutions:
Identify logistics challenges that could constrain business growth. Propose concrete solutions - whether reconfiguring the network, launching specialized centers for new product categories, or improving existing site capabilities. Collaborate cross-functionally to turn proposals into reality at speed.

■ Participate in Network Capacity Planning:
Engage with demand forecasting and capacity planning processes to understand the broader network context. Leverage this understanding to inform launch timing, site sizing, and investment decisions.

■ 新規EF拠点の立ち上げをリードする

新規EF物流センターの立ち上げプロセスをEnd-to-Endでオーナーとして推進します。サプライチェーン、リテール、不動産、3PLパートナーと連携し、委託先選定・契約交渉からオペレーション開始まで、拠点の立ち上げ準備を主導します。スケジュールを管理し、部門横断の課題を解消し、計画通りの品質でローンチを実現します。

■ ローンチ後の事業管理を推進する

拠点が稼働した後は、その事業パフォーマンスをオーナーとして管理します。P&Lの管理、3PLパートナーとのQBR主導、コスト最適化施策の立案・実行、オペレーションKPIのモニタリングを通じて、持続的なパフォーマンスを確保します。顧客体験やコスト目標に影響が出る前に、課題を先手で対処します。

■ 物流ネットワークの課題を解決する

ビジネス成長を阻害する物流上の課題を特定し、具体的な解決策を提案します。ネットワーク構成の見直し、新商材に対応する特殊機能を持つセンターの新設、既存拠点の機能改善など、関係部署と連携してスピード感を持って実行に移します。

■ ネットワークCapacity計画に参画する

需要予測やCapacity計画のプロセスに参画し、ネットワーク全体の状況を把握します。この理解をもとに、立ち上げタイミング、拠点規模、投資判断に対するインプットを行います。

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of program or project Management experience
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
- Intermediate-level Japanese language proficiency
- Business-level English reading and writing skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge of quantitative data analysis and statistics
- Knowledge of SQL
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, and/or consulting firms
- Business-level Japanese conversation skills
- Degree or domain knowledge in engineering/operations
- Positive attitude towards contributing to an inclusive culture and working in diverse teams
