DESCRIPTION:

Do you want to invent a brand-new quick-commerce platform from the ground up? Amazon Now is building the future of 10-minute delivery for India's fast-growing grocery and essentials market, and we're looking for talented engineers who want to do more than write code - you'll own components that thousands of customers touch within minutes of a change going live, and help shape the product, the architecture, and the business roadmap. This is not maintenance work; it's a high-visibility, grounds-up initiative where you'll design and build the entire shopping lifecycle - discovery, storefront, ordering, and delivery - using modern ReactJS front-ends and backend services built from scratch.

You'll work alongside senior engineers and product leaders to solve difficult, ambiguous problems at scale, making pragmatic trade-offs without over-engineering. Key job responsibilities
a) Design and deliver complex, scalable components of the quick-commerce platform end-to-end, spanning discovery, storefront, ordering, and delivery experiences
b) Contribute actively to the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, code reviews, testing, deployment, and operational support for production systems
c) Make sound architecture and trade-off decisions on technology choices, dependencies, and resource efficiency, balancing speed of iteration with long-term maintainability and quality
d) Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business and customer needs into technical solutions that deliver measurable impact
e) Ensure operational excellence by identifying and resolving root causes of issues, raising the engineering bar on reliability and scaling, and sharing knowledge through code reviews

A day in the life
Your day blends inventing and building stable, performant software with your team through pragmatic design discussions and thorough code reviews. You'll make critical architecture decisions - whether to reuse existing components or build new ones, which dependencies to adopt, how to optimize for resource efficiency - while pairing with senior engineers on complex technical challenges. You'll collaborate directly with customers and stakeholders to refine project ideas, then move quickly under a build-fast, iterate-fast model without compromising on quality or operational discipline.

We're the India Grocery & Everyday Essentials team building Amazon Now - a grounds-up quick-commerce experience for India's fast-growing 10-minute-delivery market. Our team of senior engineers and product leaders is creating industry-leading shopping experiences spanning discovery through delivery. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
