In this role, you will design and build platform features that combine AWS services with generative AI to deliver personalized, efficient HR support to Amazon employees globally. We invite you to join the Employee Services Technology team within Amazon's People Experience and Technology (PXT) organization.

Key job responsibilities
Design and develop critical platform features that are highly scalable and maintainable, aligning with AWS best practices and your team's long-term architecture plans.
Architect and implement AI-powered solutions using AWS services to enable predictive support capabilities and automated workflow orchestration.
Design robust integration patterns between multiple HR systems while ensuring data security and compliance, and translate complex business requirements into clear technical solutions.
Mentor engineers on your team through code reviews and design discussions, raising the bar on code quality and engineering practices.
Partner with product managers, business stakeholders, and senior engineers to drive architectural decisions and deliver team-level goals.

A day in the life
You will write maintainable, well-structured code to advance your current project and submit it for team code review. You might design a system to solve a large-scale problem and present your approach in a design document to build consensus. You will attend operations reviews to understand system health, meet with customers to understand their pain points, and review teammates' code to help raise quality. You will also research new technologies that could simplify your team's systems, resolve trouble tickets, and meet with your manager to discuss career development.

About the team
We are part of Amazon's People Experience and Technology (PXT) organization, focused on building and evolving Service Central - a platform that transforms how HR support is delivered to Amazonians worldwide. Our team develops solutions that combine AI-powered employee relationship management with streamlined workflows.

Our mission is to empower People Services teams to provide swift, accurate, and personalized support while reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency. We are currently working on generative AI initiatives and building new features to enhance the employee support experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
