We, the Ordering team, need strong software development engineers, able to dive deep into abstract problems and come up with innovative designs to help us continuously make our platform ready for our current and future challenges.

SDEs at Amazon work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end to end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world. At Amazon an SDE can expect to design flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming. Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable software solutions that simplify complex problems, balancing immediate needs with long-term architectural vision
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle including scoping, design, code, testing, deployment, and maintenance of critical systems
- Participate actively in code reviews, providing meaningful technical feedback to team members and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code
- Drive operational excellence by identifying root causes of issues and implementing permanent solutions that improve team processes and software quality
- Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and peers to understand business requirements and deliver solutions that balance customer needs with technical constraints

A day in the life
Your day begins with a team stand-up where you sync with colleagues on progress and priorities. From there, you'll dive into developing new features, building tools, or creating mechanisms that incrementally improve how things work. You'll engage in thoughtful code reviews, collaborate with teammates to solve technical challenges, and apply your reasoning skills to navigate ambiguous problems. Throughout the day, you'll balance writing high-quality code with operational responsibilities, always keeping an eye on both immediate deliverables and the long-term vision.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
