DESCRIPTION:

Alexa Growth organization's mission is to enable Alexa+ engagement depth and breadth by focusing on C/WAA (Conversations per Weekly Active Account) and #asks/WAA. We drive acquisition of new customers and deepen engagement of existing ones through horizontal, cross-functional initiatives, end-to-end experience optimization, and rigorous high-tempo experimentation - worldwide, across paid and free tiers. We are under the broader Alexa Core Experiences org and are looking for a Software Development Manager based out of our Hyderabad office.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager in Alexa Growth, you will be responsible for directly managing a team of engineers, for ensuring that their work is delivered on time and at a high quality, and for making technical decisions from software architecture to operational excellence. You will ensure your features can scale to support Alexa in a variety of languages and across the wide range of devices on which Alexa is available.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
