Sr. Safety Policy Expert, Global Product and Food Safety

DESCRIPTION:

The Product Safety Policy Expert owns analysis and risk assessment activities required to formulate worldwide product safety policies. They serve as the electrical subject matter expert, providing guidance on complex policy decisions related to product safety and compliance for electrical and electronic products. The role requires deep knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and standards.

Key job responsibilities
• Own product safety risk assessments and high-judgment policy decisions that meet worldwide regulatory obligations and strengthen customer safety.
• Monitor and analyze emerging electrical and electronic regulations, new technologies, and safety testing standards - to identify and mitigate global customer safety risks.
• Analyze data from multiple sources to identify risk indicators that inform and support policy decisions.
• Coordinate with Legal teams to integrate legal and safety analysis into key policy decisions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to communicate Amazon's safety and compliance strategies to stakeholders.
• Draft and present strategies to enhance risk management practices, including benchmarking against industry standards.
• Communicate regularly with leadership, ensuring consistent reporting against commitments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Master's degree or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
