About the Role

Want to build systems that power one of the world's largest e-commerce platforms? We are looking for engineers who love solving complex, real-world problems at massive scale. Our team builds the core tax calculation and invoicing platform that ensures accurate, compliant transactions across global marketplaces - covering sales tax, VAT, and tax invoicing for physical and digital products.

Every calculation matters. We operate in a fast-moving regulatory landscape where tax laws and rates change constantly, and our systems must deliver precision at high throughput - every single time.

What You will Do
•Partner with the team to inform and drive business decisions through engineering excellence
•Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software solutions focused on performance, cost efficiency, and security
•Write high-quality, production-grade distributed systems software
•Apply software engineering best practices to ensure consistently high-quality deliverables
•Work in an agile environment where priorities are clear and impact is immediate
•Contribute across the full software development lifecycle - from design and documentation to testing and operations

What We are Looking For
We are hiring software engineers who thrive on complexity and take pride in operating mission-critical, high-availability systems. You should be self-driven, a good communicator (both written and verbal), and energized by collaborating with talented peers in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Technical Foundation
•Good experience with object-oriented programming languages
•Familiarity with Linux-based development environments
•Experience with relational database systems
•Background in building or operating large-scale distributed systems


Key job responsibilities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
