Location: Warton/Samlesbury (Lancashire). We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 3 days per week.

Salary: £25,900 (pro-rata)

Role description 

As a Summer Intern, you will be working in a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation, providing continuing airworthiness management services that underwrite the air safety of the platforms supported by BAE Systems. The work will involve attendance at BAE Systems customer locations including active interaction with aircraft maintenance organisations, supply chain and other disciplines. You will experience several of the Continuing Airworthiness Management disciplines including Fleet Management, Maintenance Planning and Tasking, Technical Information Management, Airworthiness Records, Reliability & Maintenance Programmes and Technical Services. You will gain a detailed understanding of the regulatory requirements to operate military aircraft within the United Kingdom Defence Air Environment.

Core duties 

• Collation and presentation of aircraft status.
• Monitoring aircraft operating performance.
• Plan and promulgate management plans for aircraft and component maintenance.
• Carry out ad hoc performance studies on aircraft and components.
• Review current ways of working, assessing opportunities for improvement, particularly relating to the use of emerging/maturing technology.
• Take an active part in team discussions, both from technical and behavioural perspectives.

Qualification requirements

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to be on track to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in the following subjects: Engineering, Physics or Mathematics
