Role description 

As a Undergraduate Mechanical Engineer, you will be applying your understanding of mechanical engineering principles, as well as materials and manufacturing processes, to progress the design, development, and manufacture of new and existing products and supporting equipment. You will be involved in assisting with the analysis of reported issues and failures, to enable the continuous support of existing products, drafting technical reports, presentations, and technical drawings and supporting the analysis and testing of components and assemblies, to ensure we deliver a robust, safe, and reliable product.

Core duties 

• Product Design & Development – Mechanical engineering, design principles, materials knowledge, manufacturing processes, Computer Aided Design, problem-solving
• Product Support & Failure Analysis – Root cause analysis, troubleshooting, analytical thinking, attention to detail, technical investigation
• Technical Documentation – Technical writing, report writing, presentation skills, technical drawing, communication
• Testing & Validation – Testing and validation, data analysis, quality assurance, risk assessment, safety awareness
• Prototype & Test Equipment Build – Hands-on engineering, prototyping, assembly, practical problem-solving, workshop/laboratory skills
• Hands-on building of prototype products and test equipment, to facilitate development testing and qualification.

Qualification requirements

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to be on track to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in the following subjects: Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical or Mechanically related Engineering degree.
