PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £70,000 - £83,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As Head of Marketing - Digital and ATL Marketing in the Licence Fee Unit, you'll play a key role in devising strategies that drive revenue across a wide range of marketing platforms. We are an award-winning team working with market leading agencies in campaign management and media activation. The Licence Fee Unit (LFU) is the key funding source for the BBC. We are a small team working to an outsourced model. You'll be working with a large full-service agency, a best in breed media buyer and smaller specialist agencies. The LFU is a highly collaborative and nurturing team. We encourage Enterprise working across the BBC. We constantly look to innovate to drive revenue and cut costs. The role therefore offers many opportunities for growth.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • In collaboration with the Commercial team oversee the management of key digital and ATL marketing contracts including Media planning and buying, Content creation, Influencer and TV and radio creative production.
  • Represent the Acquisition Working Group and Media Planning Group when setting the strategic direction and building the Marketing Plan with the Senior Head of Marketing, and the other Head of Marketing.
  • Work with the Head of Marketing - Direct Marketing, to ensure that the marketing plan is delivered. Set the benchmarks for success, troubleshoot problems and ensure optimum ROI from activity across both Direct and Digital.
  • Accountable for the output of the LFU marketing team on the Acquisition Working Group and Media Planning Group. From campaign briefs to creative execution.
  • Responsible for ensuring final campaign performance is clearly understood, the drivers of success (or otherwise) and key learnings to be applied in future, and for building a culture of continual learning.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Significant Digital and ATL brand and marketing experience including display, SEO. social, influencer, TV and radio campaigns using both owned and paid media. Experience of managing resulting commercial relationships and significant budgets. Likely to have been gained in a large organisation with regulatory oversight.
  • Experience managing critical stakeholder relationships, able to build rapport and create good working relationships.
  • Experience of Enterprise working and collaboration with teams inside and outside an organisation. With good interpersonal skills.
  • Self-reliant, resilient and proactive. Able to manage self and others within a complex matrix environment with shared responsibilities across the BBC.
  • Good at planning and getting the details, as well as the big picture right with a record of strategic and creative success gained at a senior level.

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience translating audience insights and analytics into a brand strategy, marketing plan, and effective campaigns.
  • Good negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.
