Founded in 1922, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra is the oldest radio orchestra in the world, and the BBC's orchestra for the North of England. They are part of the cultural fabric of Greater Manchester and when they are not in the studio, they can often be found performing in schools or working with children and young people right across the region.
