General Purpose

The Manager, Area Sales and Merchandising role is responsible for leading a team of Sales Development Managers and Order Replenishment Supervisors in the execution of sales initiatives for the Large and/or Small Store channels in a Market Unit.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Field Sales Execution in all local, regional and national Large and/or Small Store assigned accounts 
  • Responsible for the execution of all sales priorities, initiatives and order replenishment activities 
  • Identifying and developing core talent, including stewardship of the Talent Management Review at the Sales Development Manager and Order Replenishment Supervisor level 
  • Coach and develop a team of direct reports while ensuring a culture of learning and development exists throughout the Large and/or Small Store selling and order replenishment organization 
  • Coach team of Order Replenishment Supervisors on weekly planning including 
  • Analyzing sales data and developing weekly merchandising plans 
  • Volume tracking for order writing efficiencies 
  • Planning for holiday/peak ordering schedules based on review of forecasted volume 
  • Building Customer Relationships with Large and/or Small Store accounts serving as the connection point with store level leadership in operations 
  • Accountable for selling in and adherence to calendar marketing agreements, provide feedback to the national customer teams  
  • Drives collaboration between supply chain and field sales execution including sales and delivery route planning 
  • Serves as key enabler for Supply Chain initiatives 
  • Execute and fulfill all channel, package and pricing plans provided by the Commercial Leadership 
  • Provide a feedback loop to the Director of Sales on marketplace conditions (includes competition, channel plans, pricing, architecture)

Qualifications

Education:

Required - BA/BS (or equivalent); MS/MA/MBA (or equivalent) preferred Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science 's degree required 
Experience: 

3 plus years' of sales management experience leading a sales team required 
5 plus years' of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and Beverage category experience preferred.
