Job Overview

The Supervisor RC Maintenance is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, scheduling, and auditing of both (non) routine maintenance. This role will ensure all incoming repair types are managed and monitored, including preventative, mechanical, and electrical repair to tractors, trucks, and trailers, material handling. The Supervisor will be involved in hiring, training, and the ongoing development of technicians; professionally handle all levels of management, employees, vendors, and external customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Fleet Maintenance facilities are safe and clean condition
  • Manage vehicle maintenance in an efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Routinely communicate with the Area or Region Manager about any issues or problems requiring attention
  • Develop and maintain team environment within the shop, through effective supervision of all work activities
  • Oversee the day-to-day preventive maintenance activities, vehicle repairs, and work projects as directed by the Area or Region Manager
  • Monitor and maintain proper parts inventory levels through quarterly audits, monitoring and controlling maintenance costs as related to personnel, purchasing
  • Ensure compliance to all health and safety policies and the proper operation, maintenance, and updates of all shop equipment
  • Manage, lead, and motivate a team to deliver results by communicating company goals and deadlines; engage and develop teammates through effective performance management, coaching, and training
  • Implement continuous improvement methods while maintaining customer focus
  • Embody company purpose and values to inspire servant leadership
  • Support the Lead Technician with balance; manage workloads at multiple locations to ensure that all assets are repaired promptly, and cover employee vacations when needed
  • Propose, review and manage equipment disposal
  • Review motor vehicle accident reports, and set up estimates for Managers review
  • Ensure proper documentation and disposal of waste metals
  • Coordinate contractors for outsourced repairs for non-manned shops, and manage invoicing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Must have excellent computer aptitude, including Microsoft Office Products, SAP, and TMW, TMT Maintenance software
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Physical Effort: Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must be able to stand, sit and walk for extended hours
  • Must be able to safely perform duties in an industrial environment
  • Equipment: PC, Laptop. Vehicle Diagnostic Equipment. Power, Hand and Diagnostic Tools
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and support the department after hours
  • Travel required as needed (50%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years of education beyond high school in college or technical school
  • Knowledge acquired through 5 - 7 years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade School (Specific Trade: Diesel Truck Repair)
  • (5) Years minimum in Fleet Maintenance
  • (3) Years in a lead or supervisory role
  • ASE Certification preferred
  • Air conditioning Certification (MVAC 40CFR Part 82.40) preferred
  • DOT Brake and Annual Inspector Certification (49CFR Part 396)

Work Environment

  • Indoor, Outdoor and Roadside work.  Any weather conditions
  • Travel required as needed, up to 50%
