Position Overview

Role Description

  • The Product Reference Data Service team sits within Operations Reference Data Services and is responsible for providing accurate and timely product reference data for the Bank. 

  • pRDS provides product data for all divisions of the Bank (IB/CB/PB) and deals with stakeholder across multiple functions and processes. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders and process owners at all corporate levels and will require the ability to influence outcomes and communicate clearly in both written and verbal form.

  • As a pRDS Team member you will be involved in product creation and maintenance processes and management of the product hierarchy, coordinating with stakeholders such cRDS (Client Ref. Data), AFC (Anti Financial Crime), Front Office, NPA (New Product Approval) and preventative controls. Understanding processes, risks and impacts will be essential for the ongoing maintenance and evolution of the pRDS ref data. In addition, you may be required to assist with ad hoc onboarding, regulatory or tech projects.

Your key responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholder functions to provision the Banks golden source of product reference data and deliver on high profile regulatory requirements
  • Point person for queries and controls in relation to:
    • PRDS products, hierarchies and their lifecycle
    • Infrastructure product mappings across all businesses and functions
  • Daily management and resolution of queries and issues raised to the PRDS support group.
  • Provide SME knowledge across the product domain with the aim of challenging current working practices and improving processes.
  • Ensure the full suite of PRDS products adheres to the defined operating model, in terms of accountability, data quality and governance.
  • Supporting the wider Reference Data programme in delivering key objectives for the bank.

Your skills and experience

  • Good Excel – pivot, formula, vlookup, data reconciliations, etc.
  • Preferably some experience working with reference data (data creation, maintenance and governance).
  • Good knowledge of trade lifecycles and processing and control functions within the banking industry
  • Good stakeholder management - the ability to work across a large number of stakeholders (including senior mgmt) with the aim of reaching cross party consensus on product related provision, governance and control questions.
  • The ability to build a network across DB which can provide guidance and knowledge on product data usage across the firm, transactional processes, and external reporting requirements
  • A self-starter who is willing to take ownership of their workload, is able to demonstrate initiative and is able to work though complex problems.
