Role Description
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Lending Operations will be responsible for the operational oversight of end-to-end deal closing activities for syndicated and bilateral deals. This role requires a deep understanding of the bilateral and syndicated loan life cycle, as well as knowledge of deal closing, loan servicing systems, reconciliation, and break resolution.

Your key responsibilities
Deal Management & Setup:
- Review and validate facility agreements, term sheets, and credit approvals for accurate deal setup.
- Manage the deal closing lifecycle, including Conditions Precedent (CP) tracking.
- Validate funding notices and ensure drawdown readiness.
Coordination & Collaboration:
- Coordinate with Front Office, Legal, Credit, Agency, and Operations teams.
- Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with Lending Operations.
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including experienced managers.
- Maintain high levels of engagement with Lenders, Middle Office, Finance, Business, and Credit Risk Managers.
Control & Compliance:
- Ensure maker-checker controls, data integrity, and duplicate prevention.
- Ensure all controls and DB requirements are adhered to, and risk items escalated immediately.
- Comply with audit and compliance regulations, acting as the focal point for internal and external audits.
- Comply with DB Policies, Guidelines, and Controls.
- Ensure timely escalation to Senior management, as appropriate.
Process Improvement & Projects:
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development.
- Critically provide input, development, and management of projects (client transitions, system enhancements, process reviews).
- Participate in the formulation and implementation of new and revised systems, policies, and guidelines.
Subject Matter Expertise & Escalations:
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), handling complex process-related queries and clarifications.
- Manage process escalations from internal/external customers.
Your skills and experience
- Education & Experience: Master's/ Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting with 13-16 years of relevant experience in deal closing, Loan documentation and loan servicing in a Back office/Financial industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of Nostro, General Ledger reconciliation, SWIFT, other remittance systems, and strong Loan IQ (LS2) skills.
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of deal origination and syndication processes, familiarity with loan documentation, credit agreements, admin forms, and assignment agreements.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving, investigative, risk & control mindset, and people & Stakeholder management skills.
- Availability: Open to working in EMEA shifts.
