The EIB, the European Union's bank is seeking to recruit for its Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate (PMM), Strategy, Procedures & Data Division (SPD), Compliance Support & Coordination Unit (CSC), at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a Compliance Officer*.

This is a full-time temporary position at grade 5.
The term of this contract will be until December 15th 2027: as this is a temporary replacement assignment, no extension or conversion of the contract is foreseen.
Panel interviews are anticipated for June 2026.
Purpose
To define, clarify and operationalise compliance-related processes in PMM from a 1st line of defence perspective, in close collaboration with EIB's 2nd line Office of the Chief Compliance Officer, enabling the front office to deliver on compliance-related tasks.
Reporting to the Head of unit, you will be part of the Compliance Support and Coordination team, which mixes operational support tasks with more strategic and transversal work across all compliance risk dimensions, arising from involvement in procedural updates, impact from audit or other oversight activities, and the automation and integration of ever-growing compliance requirements into existing streams. This is a role that sits in a first line team with compliance experts, and that is in frequent contact with EIB's 2nd line Office of the Chief Compliance Officer.
Ensure overall good compliance practices in PMM, balancing regulatory requirements against operational and commercial realities.
Manage requests from the various PMM front office teams in dealing with relevant events, decisions or OMEGA workflows. Integrate relevant feedback into procedures, enhancement initiatives etc.
Participate in multiple ad hoc transversal initiatives, advise management and 1st line officers, and/or formulate opinions.
Support relevant elements of the various compliance risk frameworks while remaining sensitive to the impact on PMM, for efficiencies as well as integration in existing processes.
Participate in the training of less senior colleagues and contribute to broader awareness raising initiatives; update relevant PMM procedures; as well as provide input in digitalisation initiatives.
Actively facilitate the activities of control functions on compliance topics and evaluate PMM's existing control framework. Propose enhancements and follow up on action points.
University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor), preferably in a relevant field.
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience including knowledge of compliance topics (not limited to AML CFT).
Experience with managing multiple stakeholders across the lines of defence. Ability to collaborate with colleagues of various levels of seniority. Capacity to take a firm stance where needed.
Ability to thrive in a fluid workspace with changing priorities and balancing Business As Usual support to the front office with more transversal work.
Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of French would be an asset.
