About the role
This is a critical operations role responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of fuel movements through a pipeline network. Working within a 24/7 control room environment, you will remotely monitor and control fuel flow using SCADA and associated systems, ensuring smooth delivery aligned to customer requirements. Working on shift with 1 other despatcher, you would be part of a 11 person Pipeline Control Centre team.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will possess GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, along with previous experience in a pipeline, despatcher, or control room role. They should have exposure to industrial sectors such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Water, or Hazardous Materials, and ideally have experience with control systems, preferably SCADA. Strong IT literacy, analytical decision-making skills, and excellent communication under pressure are essential, as is a proactive and safety-conscious mindset. A full UK driving licence is required, as the site is not accessible via public transport. Additional qualifications or experience beyond these essentials would be desirable.
