Shifts: Monday to Sunday, early, late and long day shifts. Participation in the on call and standby rota is required, including overnight on-call commitments, home on-call and weekend cover. Dedicated on-call accommodation is available opposite the hospital.
We're looking for a Theatre Practitioner - Anaesthetics to join our Theatre team at The Portland Hospital. As the only private hospital in the UK dedicated entirely to the healthcare of women and children, The Portland Hospital offers a highly specialised environment where colleagues can develop expertise across paediatric, maternity and women's health services. With more than 46 paediatric beds, a dedicated Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, neonatal intensive care services and over 175 paediatric consultants, you'll join a close knit clinical community where collaboration, compassion and learning are at the heart of everything we do.
As an Anaesthetics Practitioner, you'll support both paediatric and adult patients across a varied and complex caseload. Our paediatric specialties include ENT, urology, cardiac, spinal, neuro, dental and maxillofacial surgery, while our adult services focus primarily on general cases, obstetrics and gynaecology, including elective and emergency Caesarean sections within our 24-hour maternity service. You'll play an important role in supporting emergency maternity care, developing valuable experience within a fast paced service where clinical teamwork and swift decision making are essential.
Surrounded by experienced colleagues who are passionate about teaching and development, you'll have the opportunity to further strengthen your anaesthetic skills while building expertise across specialist paediatric and maternity theatres. Continued investment in technology, dedicated facilities and access to development opportunities including Surgical First Assistant training help create an environment where colleagues are supported to grow throughout their careers.
To support colleagues participating in the on-call rota, dedicated accommodation is available in a hospital owned flat directly opposite The Portland Hospital, providing a practical and comfortable base when responding to urgent clinical activity.
