From the CEO to the colleagues on the floor, we all have a part to play in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Others may think this is just a role in Estates, but to us, you'll be part of a wider team with a unique sense of purpose, one that helps improve lives on a daily basis.

What you'll do:

  • Support the Estates Manager with the operational management of the Estates Department.
  • Lead, develop and supervise Estates Engineering staff and contractors.

  • Manage planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Support compliance monitoring, audits and performance reporting.
  • Assist in the management of departmental budgets and service contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, COSHH, water hygiene, fire safety and healthcare engineering standards.
  • Act as the hospital's Medical Gas Authorised Person (MGPS AP).
  • Act as the Deputy Legionella Responsible Person for water safety.
  • Act as the hospital's Fire Officer, supporting fire safety management, training and regulatory compliance.
  • Support emergency response arrangements and provide technical expertise across the hospital site.
  • Deputise for the Estates Manager as required.

What you'll bring:

  • Significant Estates experience within a healthcare, hospital or similarly complex environment.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of building services engineering and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Good understanding of healthcare engineering standards, including medical gases, water safety and fire safety compliance.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services discipline).
  • Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
