ITU Sister / Charge Nurse - Band 7 (Critical Care)
Location: The Princess Grace Hospital, Central London
Salary: Competitive salary plus shift enhancements and comprehensive benefits
If you're an experienced ITU Sister or Charge Nurse who thrives in a highly clinical environment and takes pride in leading teams to deliver outstanding patient care, we'd love to hear from you.
At The Princess Grace Hospital, you'll join a close knit and highly skilled Critical Care team where your expertise will be valued, your voice will be heard, and your leadership will make a genuine impact on both patient outcomes and colleague development.
This is an opportunity to take the next step in your career within one of London's most respected private hospitals, caring for patients undergoing complex surgical procedures and supporting some of the most advanced services in independent healthcare.
Located in the heart of Central London, The Princess Grace Hospital has built a reputation for clinical excellence, investment in leading technology, and delivering outstanding patient experiences. As part of HCA Healthcare UK, you'll benefit from the support of a wider network while enjoying the collaborative culture and community of a specialist hospital where high standards, innovation and continuous learning are part of everyday practice.
Our nine-bed Intensive Care Unit delivers Level 3 critical care within a modern and purpose designed environment, comprising four open bays, four private side rooms and a dedicated negative pressure room. We care for patients undergoing complex elective surgical procedures, including spinal, colorectal, thoracic, urology, reconstructive and advanced gynaecological surgery, while also supporting the care of complex medical patients across the hospital.
What makes our unit particularly rewarding is the breadth of clinical exposure and the opportunity to work alongside some of the UK's leading consultants and multidisciplinary teams. You'll be involved in caring for highly complex patients, making critical decisions, coordinating care pathways and helping to drive excellent outcomes from admission through to discharge.
Education, collaboration and continuous improvement sit at the centre of everything we do. Our Critical Care Outreach Team works closely with colleagues throughout the hospital, supporting deteriorating patients, facilitating safe step-down care and sharing specialist knowledge across services. This creates a learning rich environment where experienced nurses can continue to develop their leadership capability, strengthen their clinical expertise and shape the future of the service.
As an ITU Sister / Charge Nurse, you'll be a visible clinical leader within the department, combining advanced critical care expertise with the ability to inspire, support and develop others. You'll lead by example on the floor, managing complex patient care, coordinating the shift, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and patient experience are consistently delivered.
You'll work closely with consultants, senior nursing colleagues and multidisciplinary teams to drive service excellence, champion evidence-based practice and contribute to the ongoing development of our Critical Care Unit. Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you'll play an important role in mentoring and developing colleagues, supporting education initiatives, and helping to shape a positive and inclusive culture where people can perform at their best
