Job Summary

  • This role is responsible for designing engineering solutions, leading project team of other mechanical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions.

  • The role collaborates effectively with management, internal teams, and applies developed subject matter knowledge to drive the development of moderately complex products. The role contributes to process efficiencies and resolves challenges.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver product design & assemblies to production on time, cost and to specification (functionality, reliability, safety & performance) helping the business accomplish its goals.

  • Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, developing fan curves, system power measurements & acoustics.

  • Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within their area of experience.

  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.

  • Leads a project team of other mechanical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderately complex products.

  • Generates process efficiencies and products that meet necessary business requirements through quality documentation and project management.

  • Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents.

  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members.


Education & Experience Recommended

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 4-10 years of work experience, preferably in engineering design and solutions, implementation across hardware development lifecycle, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
