Summary of Role

To support the Asset Protection team in the Private Client division with legal research, innovation, knowledge management and training.

The firm is open to considering suitably qualified candidates on either a full time or part time basis.

Key Tasks

  • Develop, maintain and enhance the Asset Protection team's style bank and guidance notes.
  • Review current processes and identify opportunities for improvement with a particular focus on considering use of AI and automation in line with the firm's objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT, innovation and knowledge teams to embed new tools and ways of working effectively in the Asset Protection Team.
  • Support fee earners in the team with complex legal research and technical queries.
  • Monitor legal developments and ensure the wider team receives appropriate technical and legal market knowledge by means of internal training sessions, circulation of appropriate articles and regular updates.
  • Work closely with the Divisional Manager in relation to the allocation of the divisional training budget, co-ordinate the attendance of team members at external courses and organise team training with internal and external speakers.
  • Support in the preparation of marketing materials, marketing communications with clients, assist others with preparation for delivery of external training and, where required, preparation of tender materials.
  • Organise and deliver the Private Client PEAT2 training for trainee solicitors, working with the People Team and the other Professional Support Lawyers in the firm and participate in our trainee induction sessions.
  • Play a key role in the onboarding process for individuals joining the Asset Protection Team - providing them with relevant training on team processes and styles.
  • Assist with annual submissions to the Legal Directories (Chambers and Legal 500)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified lawyer with strong technical expertise in tax and succession planning with 5+ years relevant PQE experience.
  • Experience in a Professional Support Lawyer or knowledge focussed role (preferred but not essential).
  • Comfortable engaging with new technology, automation and considering practical usage for this particular practice area to drive improvements.
  • Strong drafting, research and communication skills.
  • Ability to write style documents in plain English and to maintain the document style bank to keep documents up to date with tax and other legislative developments.
