Interning as a Data Pipeline Engineer you will:

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of SQL-first ELT data pipelines using DBT tool
• Build modular, reusable, and well-documented data models
• Support data pipeline quality through automated data profiling and validation (primarily in Python)
• Help ensure pipelines are CI/CD-ready, version-controlled, and aligned with engineering best practices
• Collaborate with product owners and engineers to turn business logic into reusable, production-ready data products
• Document transformation logic, data models, and data lineage for transparency and reuse

What should you know / have:

• Basic to intermediate SQL skills (joins, aggregations, filtering, subqueries)
• Familiarity with at least one programming language, preferably Python
• Understanding of core data concepts (tables, schemas, data types, ETL/ELT basics)
• Interest in modern data stack tools (e.g., DBT, data warehouses, CI/CD concepts)
• Ability to write clear, structured, and well-documented code
• Attention to detail and strong focus on data quality
• Willingness to learn enterprise-scale data platforms and engineering best practices
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team

What will you do / learn:

• Gain hands-on experience with enterprise-scale tools and platforms for data storage, transformation, and publishing

• Learn how to design and implement SQL-first ELT pipelines with DBT, including:

• Practice automated profiling and validation of datasets using Python
• Learn how to make data pipelines portable, maintainable, and CI/CD-ready

• Experience working with product owners and engineers to:

• Develop familiarity with engineering best practices such as version control, code reviews, and deployment automation
• Build a practical understanding of how data products are developed, governed, and consumed at enterprise scale
