Job Description
We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer with deep software development and cloud engineering skills to help build the clinical data services behind our trials.
You'll be hands-on designing and building serverless data pipelines on AWS - ingesting data from external partners, transforming and harmonizing it to meet regulatory requirements, and delivering it accurately and on time for submissions.
Ultimately accelerate the path to innovative therapies for patients.
Your Responsibilities
Design, build, and ship production services on AWS - Python, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3
Own technical design decisions end to end, from data ingestion through transformation to submission-ready delivery
Solve hard engineering problems around scale, performance, reliability, and data correctness
Set the engineering bar through code review, testing, and CI/CD practices; keep the platform secure and modern
Assess the current architecture to help drive a pragmatic roadmap to reduce complexity and increase delivery speed
Work with product managers to turn ambiguous requirements into concrete, buildable technical solutions
Lead a small team of engineers - through design reviews, mentoring, and technical direction rather than process overhead
Must Haves
Strong software development experience, with production Python.
AWS Lambda / Step Functions - Map States / DynamoDB / S3 / IAM
Experience with deployments and CI/CD pipelines
Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work self-guided
Fluent in written and spoken English
Nice to Haves
Experience with modern data platform concepts and technologies
Vendor management skills
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Experience with GxP validations, particularly in GCP (Good Clinical Practices)
Clinical data standards - CDISC SDTM, ADaM
Experience working in a product team
