Summary

The Robotics Expert (Super SME) owns the end-to-end robotics technology strategy for shared Work Centres across manufacturing site. The role bridges emerging robotics technologies with site needs - moving solutions from market scan to shop floor - by combining deep technical expertise with close proximity to the vendor and innovation ecosystem.
As a robotics expert, will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of robotics automation solutions.
The role is primarily a hands-on technical position, with a strong focus on robot programming, system integration, machine vision, motion control and onsite commissioning. Work with internal teams, equipment suppliers and robotics partners to translate operational needs into practical and reliable robotics solutions.
A key focus of this role is to support the site robotics roadmap by implementing industrial robots, collaborative robots, mobile robots and other intelligent automation technologies. Participate in the exploration and implementation of humanoid robotics, identifying suitable use cases, conducting technical evaluations, developing prototypes and supporting deployment in real manufacturing environments.
Require strong practical robotics engineering capability, including robot programming, vision-based guidance, sensor integration, end-of-arm tooling, motion optimization and troubleshooting. The role will Independently develop, implement and deploy robotics solutions from concept to operation.

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

• Support the design, development, programming, commissioning and troubleshooting of industrial robots, collaborative robots, mobile robots and humanoid robotics applications.

• Develop and optimize robot programs, motion sequences, trajectories and operating logic for manufacturing and material-handling applications.

• Integrate machine vision, 2D/3D cameras, sensors, force/torque sensors and other perception technologies into robotic applications.

• Support development of robot gripping and end-of-arm tooling solutions for different products, materials and operating scenarios.

• Integrate robots with PLCs, production equipment, conveyors, AGV/AMR systems and other automation platforms.

• Perform onsite testing, debugging, cycle-time optimization, reliability improvement and technical troubleshooting of robotics systems.

• Explore humanoid robotics technologies and support use-case evaluation, proof-of-concept development, testing and implementation in factory environments.

• Evaluate new robotics technologies, software platforms, sensors and suppliers through practical testing and technical comparison.

• Apply programming and software tools for robot control, data processing, simulation, vision applications and system integration.

• Ensure compliance with GMP regulations and security protocols.

• Maintain technical documentation including robot programs, system configurations, interface information, test records and troubleshooting documentation.

COMPETENCY PROFILE

Strong technical background in industrial robotics, automation, computer vision, and/or physical AI, ideally within regulated (GMP) manufacturing environments. Proven ability to translate emerging technologies into standardized, deployable solutions. Experience defining technical requirements (URSs), standards, and vendor evaluation criteria. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align across global platforms, sites, engineering, and procurement.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as:

- Robotics, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering

- Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Systems Engineering

- Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Computer Vision

- Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering

• 7+ years of experience in industrial robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing technology, ideally within a regulated environment

• Proven track record of evaluating, selecting, and deploying robotics or automation technologies from concept to shop floor

• Experience defining technical standards, User Requirement Specifications (URSs), and vendor evaluation criteria

• Strong understanding of robotics hardware, integration, and automation architectures.

• Knowledge of GMP requirements, data integrity (ALCOA+), and validation principles in regulated manufacturing

• Proven experience in managing budgets and project pipelines

• Familiarity with GMP regulations and compliance standards

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders

• Business fluency in English
