About the Role

We are looking for a commercially focused sales manager to drive revenue growth, strengthen customer relationships, and inspire and develop a high-performing team within the Energy portfolio. In this role, you will lead sales activities across existing and prospective accounts, helping customers achieve their objectives while delivering sustainable business growth. You will combine strategic planning with hands-on sales leadership, coaching your team and collaborating across the business to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

 

Responsibilities

• Communicate local action plans and connect them to wider business strategy and goals.
• Build strong relationships with key customer decision-makers and influencers, developing account plans to support retention and growth.
• Understand customer needs, present compelling propositions, negotiate effectively, and secure customer commitment.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, industry events, trade shows, and existing relationships.
• Act as the customer champion internally, collaborating across teams to ensure customer needs are understood and addressed.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and use sales data to support pipeline development, retention, and performance.
• Monitor objectives, allocate work, coach team members, and provide regular feedback to build sales skills, share best practice, and drive high performance.
• Contribute to business planning, budgeting, resource planning, and compliance with company policies and regulations. 

Requirements

• Relevant commercial and sales experience with the ability to work independently and provide guidance to others.
• Previous people management or supervisory experience, including directing people and resources to achieve business outcomes.
• Strong direct sales, prospecting, and new business development skills.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with customers, decision-makers, and key buying influencers.
• Strong understanding of customer needs, buying processes, and commercial opportunities.
• Confident presenting customer-focused solutions, negotiating agreements, and progressing opportunities through to close.
• Experience using CRM systems, sales automation tools, and sales data to manage pipelines and identify growth opportunities.
• Strong communication, influencing, leadership, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
