The Role… 

The Accountant at Soho House Barcelona will oversee the financial planning, reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations of the property. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring budgets, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.  

Main Duties… 

  • Issuing and processing customer invoices  
  • Reconciling incoming payments and ensuring accurate allocation of cash  
  • Reconciling and reviewing Accounts Receivable (AR) balance sheet accounts  
  • Managing and reconciling cash balances  
  • Reconciling the VAT ledger and investigating any discrepancies  
  • Preparing and submitting VAT reporting information for the SII  
  • Supporting general administrative and accounting tasks as requir 

Requirements... 

 

  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within hospitality, retail, or a fast-paced business environment.  
  • Good understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR), cash management, reconciliations, and VAT accounting.  
  • Experience with invoicing, payment reconciliation, and balance sheet account reconciliations.  
  • Working knowledge of Spanish VAT regulations and SII reporting requirements.  
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.  
  • Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.  
  • Proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.  
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.  
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems.  
  • Fluent Spanish and good working knowledge of English.  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
